Ravens Star Lamar Jackson’s Old Post About His Fandom of 2 NFL Teams Resurfaces Amid Trade Rumors

After a frustrating season for the Ravens old posts have resurfaced from Lamar Jackson that have people speculating about his future in Baltimore.

After enduring what’s been a difficult 2025 season, it seems possible that the Baltimore Ravens and superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson could be headed for a divorce.

Injuries, questionable coaching, and a feeling of fatigue have contributed to their underwhelming record, but that isn’t the least of their worries. These factors have also fueled trade rumors and speculation about where Jackson could potentially go, with the internet digging up an old X post in which he reveals his favorite childhood teams.

Which Teams Did Lamar Jackson Grow Up Rooting For?

Baltimore currently sits on the brink of elimination, with only a minuscule chance of making it to the playoffs. At 7-8, they’re two games behind the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North and would need them to lose out. Of course, the struggles this season have only fueled the rumor mill about Jackson’s future in Charm City.

In a resurfaced 2022 post, when the Ravens and Jackson were negotiating a complex, prolonged long-term contract, he revealed that he grew up a Dallas Cowboys fan, but that the Miami Dolphins were a close second.

It would’ve been tough for Jackson not to be enthused by the Cowboys, since by the time he was born in 1997, Dallas was coming off a dominant span in which they won three Super Bowls in four years, and the label of “America’s Team” had been firmly reestablished.

At the same time, Jackson grew up in Pompano Beach, Florida, part of Broward County, only about 40 miles north of Miami. While the Dolphins of Jackson’s early years weren’t as good as the mid-’90s Cowboys, they consistently hung around playoff contention, even past Dan Marino’s retirement in 1999.

While the Cowboys have quarterback Dak Prescott locked in through the 2028 season with a $60 million annual average, the Dolphins may have an opening at the position. Tua Tagovailoa looks to be on his way out after his recent benching, with questions surrounding the position’s future set to be one of the team’s biggest narratives this offseason.

While Jackson started off the year on an MVP-level tear, accumulating 15 total touchdowns and one interception over the first five weeks, a hamstring injury began a string of ailments that led to a notable drop-off in performance. Through 16 weeks, he’s landed at 17th in PFSN’s QB impact ranking, with a grade of 76.7.

If head coach John Harbaugh gets fired, which is certainly a possibility, Jackson will have no choice but to evaluate his future in Baltimore. If so, we’ll have to wait until this offseason to see where he’d prefer to end up – whether that be Miami, Dallas, or elsewhere.
