Five years ago, when Kyle Pitts was drafted, it felt like he was destined to become one of the top tight ends in all of football. Under his rookie contract, however, that was not the case, and now he’s set to become a free agent after a breakout season.
Pitts was the eighth-ranked tight end according to PFSN’s TE Impact Score, and now should receive a hefty payday when he hits the open market.
Atlanta Falcons
Sometimes the best answer is the obvious one. In this case, the obvious answer is for the Falcons and Pitts to find their way back to each other.
Pitts finally found his way in Atlanta last season as a top-10 tight end in the sport according to PFSN’s Impact Score. With Michael Penix mending from a torn ACL, and Kevin Stefanski coming to Atlanta from Cleveland, Pitts could be destined for stardom if he simply stays where he is.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams were one of the top teams in football in tight end usage a season ago, but none of their tight ends are as dynamic as Pitts. The Rams fell one game short of the Super Bowl and would have been favored to win it if they had reached the big dance.

Davante Adams and Puka Nacua are set to return to Los Angeles in 2026, but the Rams could see an opportunity to add to their offense and give Matthew Stafford all the pieces he needs to make one final run at a championship.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles are potentially in the market for a new tight end if Dallas Goedert leaves in free agency. Their offense could be undergoing some changes, as the future of wide receiver A.J. Brown remains uncertain.
Perhaps, instead of replacing Brown with another receiver, the Eagles could look to a tight end to push the ball through the middle of the field.
Pitts is from Philadelphia and could see the Eagles as an opportunity for a homecoming. With new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion set to call plays in 2026, the Eagles will want to arm him and Jalen Hurts with as many options as possible.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are looking to retool after a disappointing follow-up to their Super Bowl 59 loss. Could the Chiefs look for a long-term successor to Travis Kelce, who is on a year-to-year basis?

The Chiefs may not have the money to make the highest offer on the open market, but perhaps Pitts, who struggled with quarterback continuity during his tenure in Atlanta, would want to team up with the best quarterback in football.
