Chiefs Decline Kadarius Toney’s Fifth-Year Option

In a move that doesn’t seem like a surprise to many, Kadarius Toney’s fifth-year option was not picked up by the team ahead of the Thursday deadline.

It has been an up-and-down career for Toney since being drafted by the New York Giants. He has been a part of some key moments for the Chiefs in the biggest spots, since his arrival, but the relationship has seemingly soured as of late.

Toney is just 25 years old, and entering his fourth NFL season with a lot of talent that remains untapped. This move doesn’t mean he is completely out of the Chiefs’ plans, but it does make it clear that they will not be paying him like an elite receiver in his fifth season.

Travis Kelce Happy To Set Benchmark For TE’s With New Contract

The good times keep on rolling for Travis Kelce. As if winning back-to-back Super Bowls, dating superstar Taylor Swift, and becoming one of the most likable players in the NFL isn’t enough, Kelce has also officially become the highest-paid TE in the NFL.

It’s something he is excited about, not only for himself but for his friends. He hopes they too get what they are worth when they sit at the negotiating table.
