Kamari Ramsey’s NFL Draft Potential

Kamari Ramsey still doesn’t have a ton of buzz, but he’s a highly rated defensive back on my board, with the versatility and athleticism to make an instant impact in the NFL. At 6’0″, 205 pounds, Ramsey has a strong, compact frame with good mass, and he’s an effortless, energized mover for his size.

He floats on his pedal in off-man and zone, with stellar foot speed, swivel fluidity, and transition freedom, and he has the role flexibility to man up slot WRs in nickel, or fade back into two-high looks and manage route concepts efficiently.

When USC lost Ramsey versus Illinois, their defense struggled mightily, and that wasn’t an accident. Ramsey does things — managing space, eliminating pass-game options, taking on blocks in support — that don’t always show up on the stat sheet, but the traits valuation rules in his favor as a potential impact NFL starter with nickel and safety flex.

CFB Week 9 Update

USC was on a bye in Week 9, but they’ll return to action against Nebraska in Week 10. The Cornhuskers have an emerging young QB in Dylan Raiola, whose creative proficiency forces defenses to be dialed in and on their assignments all through reps. For that reason, Ramsey’s position-less versatility and unmatched situational awareness will be crucial for the Trojans’ defense to stay composed. Ramsey is the “glue guy” for USC, and the importance of that role should once again be at the forefront against Matt Rhule’s squad.

CFB Week 10 Update

In USC’s 21-17 victory over Nebraska, Ramsey was once again an unheralded but very real contributor on the defensive side of the ball. There were occasional lapses in support angles, wherein he allowed himself to be sealed off on outside runs, and he can be more consistent with his engagement and wrap-up technique as a tackler.

Nevertheless, Ramsey is exceedingly quick with his trigger and explosive on the attack, and in off-man and zone coverage, his coverage mobility, spatial feel, and corrective athleticism is truly some of the best in the class. He’s an energized athlete with hyper-active foot speed, extraordinary swivel fluidity, and the closing speed to erase gaps out of breaks. He remains a top safety in the 2026 NFL Draft on my board, in spite of lacking raw production.

Where Is Ramsey Being Selected Most Often in the PFSN Mock Draft Simulator?

Ramsey currently holds the No. 29 overall rank among prospects, placing him among the first-round caliber prospects. His most recent Average Draft Position (ADP) of 32.8 as of October 27 reflects that he is typically being selected in the second or third round.

This small gap between rank and ADP suggests he’s consistently valued among evaluators, even amid fluctuations in player evaluations at this stage of the draft cycle.

Users controlling the Cleveland Browns have been the team that selected Ramsey the most frequently over the past week, accounting for 1.0% of their picks across all seven rounds.
