Justin Jefferson has been one of the best wide receivers in the NFL during his career with the Minnesota Vikings. He has also been among the most productive players ever in his position, based on his historical numbers so far. He was recently asked about the growing trade rumors that have connected him to the Buffalo Bills, and he gave a direct response.
How Did Vikings WR Justin Jefferson Respond To Trade Rumors Linking Him to the Bills?
Jefferson has spent his entire career so far with the Vikings, but rumors have been circling during the 2026 NFL offseason that he could potentially be traded. One possible destination that he has been connected to is the Bills, who are in desperate need of an upgrade to their wide receivers.
The superstar was recently asked on an episode of “Up & Adams” if he’s aware of the trade rumors that would theoretically send him to Buffalo. He acknowledged them by giving his take on the situation, making his intentions clear with his response.
“I’ve been hearing a couple of Bills Mafia fans talking a little bit here and there, but I’m a Viking … I keep it cold in Minnesota,” stated Jefferson.

Kay Adams mentioned Joe Brady, the Bills’ new head coach, when asking Jefferson for his opinion on the trade rumors. Brady was his offensive coordinator with the LSU Tigers in college football when they won the National Championship. Their previous connection is likely one of the main reasons why this trade rumor has been growing, but apparently it’s not enough for Jefferson to desire leaving Minnesota.
In addition to the LSU connection, the glaring need for upgraded wide receivers is also a major factor in the Bills’ rumored interest in the Vikings superstar. He finished seventh or better in PFSN’s WR Impact Rankings for each of his first five seasons, but fell to 32nd in his first year with new starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy. Some have speculated that he may want to play with a better quarterback, and going to Buffalo would solve this.
Josh Allen is the defending NFL MVP from last season, and he impressively won it in his first year after the franchise got rid of Stefon Diggs. They have declined to add a true number-one receiver since then, but Jefferson would obviously change that if they were to acquire him. Pairing him with Allen and reuniting him with one of his collegiate coaches is an intriguing rumor to keep an eye on in the offseason.
