Injuries throughout the season have plagued the Green Bay Packers, but their recent stretch might exacerbate the situation for the organization. After their receiving corps dealt with multiple blows early in the season, the injury to Tucker Kraft was a major blow to the offense.
However, things took a turn for the worse last week when Micah Parsons went down with a season-ending torn ACL. This week, Jordan Love has checked out of the game already, and Josh Jacobs hasn’t been able to carry the offense on his back throughout the first half.
What Happened to Josh Jacobs?
A low-scoring first half saw both teams combine for just six total points, with the Packers’ two field goals being the only scoring plays of the period. With Love going down early in the second quarter, the passing attack was virtually non-existent for Green Bay.
However, the ground game couldn’t get going either, with their star running back adding just 27 rushing yards on nine carries for a partly three yards per attempt. He had a minor impact in the receiving attack, though, with his two catches adding 12 receiving yards to the board.
But with no Love on the field, the Bears’ defense could zero in on stopping the running attack, with backup quarterback Malik Willis not offering the same level of threat as a passer.

Ranking 12th on PFSN’s RB Impact, it is right in line with his finish from last season, when he had 1,329 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. This year, while his raw yardage numbers haven’t seen the same level of production, he has been just as prolific in the end zone.
Averaging one rushing touchdown per game, he is at 13 on the season. However, this year, he has also played a major role in the receiving game, despite the number of injuries to that unit, tallying 33 receptions for 270 yards and a touchdown.
After spending the first four seasons of his career with the Las Vegas Raiders, he’s made a major impact since coming to the Packers in 2024, helping them make the playoffs last year and providing a consistent running threat alongside a relatively young quarterback in Love.
However, with the concussion ruling him out for their Week 16 game, or potentially even longer, the onus will fall on the star running back to carry a bigger load offensively.
