Should Josh Downs Be a Fantasy Waiver Wire Add in Week 6?

Downs caught all six of his targets for 97 yards on Sunday in the Colts’ win over the Titans.

MORE: Fantasy News Tracker

Before today, he hadn’t had more than 57 yards through the air, and he has yet to score his first TD. Downs ran the second-most routes today with 23, five less than Michael Pittman Jr. and Alec Pierce, and had the second-most targets.

It doesn’t seem to matter who is under center for Downs. He clearly has a rapport with QB Anthony Richardson, but with Richardson leaving the game early on — it looks like an AC sprain on his throwing shoulder — that connection may not reappear for a few weeks.

But Downs has performed with backup Gardner Minshew, both this week and in Week 3 when Minshew came in for an injured Richardson.

Downs is only rostered in 9% of Yahoo leagues and should be pursued on the waiver wire this week — he is getting a good amount of targets and successfully converting them on a team that has scored at least 21 points in every game so far this season.
