The Buffalo Bills won 40-9 over the Carolina Panthers in Week 8 on Sunday, improving their record to 5-2 on the season. The team’s performance was anchored by quarterback Josh Allen and running back James Cook, as Buffalo played incredibly in both the running and passing games.
The Bills also capitalized on multiple turnovers by Carolina, allowing them to build and maintain a commanding lead throughout the game. Allen, who has been a cornerstone in Buffalo’s offense since being drafted in 2018, exhibited his dual-threat skills once again, scoring both through the air and on the ground.

Josh Allen completed 12 of 19 passes for 163 yards and one touchdown, while adding two rushing touchdowns, bringing his season totals to 12 passing and five rushing scores. According to PFSN QB Impact Score, his rating is 84.4 with a B grade.
Quarterbacks like Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson could challenge the record in the future. Still, with a six-year, $330 million contract signed in March, Allen has the opportunity to continue adding to the record.
Meanwhile, another notable performance came from James Cook, who rushed for a career-high 216 yards and two touchdowns, including a 64-yard score. The Bills’ defense forced multiple turnovers, including the interception by Epenesa and a fumble recovery by Christian Benford.
The Bills delivered a near-perfect performance against the Panthers, controlling the game’s pace throughout. They turned opportunities into points efficiently, converting turnovers and strong drives into a 40-3 lead before Carolina finally scored late.
