The Buffalo Bills have the lead in the first quarter against the Jaguars. But they will be holding their breath after their star quarterback, Josh Allen, was injured on the final play of their second drive.
What Happened to Josh Allen?
After a Trevor Lawrence interception, the Bills looked to capitalize on good field position. On third down, the Bills dialed up a QB run for Allen, which the Jaguars were ready for. Allen was swarmed and tackled by at least four Jaguars. He headed to the medical tent following the drive to get some attention.
He was being evaluated for a concussion and was cleared by doctors. CBS’ Tracy Wolfson earlier spoke about Allen dealing with lingering foot issues, and the injury will be managed, but he will continue to play against the Jaguars.
Allen then suffered more injuries in the second quarter and visited the medical tent. “Josh Allen with a quick stop in the medical tent after his left knee/leg got caught underneath pile after rushing TD,” wrote NFL insider Cameron Wolfe on X. “But looks OK now sitting on bench. Allen came in less than 100% with foot injury and he’s getting banged up once again. But no chance he’s coming out of game.”
Josh Allen still dealing with the right foot injury. Told me he will have to manage it the rest of the postseason but he assured me adrenaline and medicine will take over and you will see Playoff Josh. #BillsMafia

Allen came out of the tent and will be back on the field on Buffalo’s next drive, but things have gotten challenging for the Bills as their starting quarterback is visibly hurt.

At the time of writing, the Bills led 10-7, but the Jaguars are in a great position to pull off the big win.
Allen is the third-best quarterback in the league according to PFSN’s QB Impact Metric with an impact score of 90.0. The Bills have a great offensive line, ranking among the top five units, and their offense is going to have to put up points against a very tough Jacksonville defense. The Jaguars have the best rush defense in the NFL and haven’t allowed a single rusher over 75 yards yet this season.
The Jaguars also have a significant advantage on special teams, ranking 7th compared to Buffalo’s 27th in PFSN’s Special Teams Impact Metric.
Allen will have to prove why he is an NFL MVP. It’s his time to be the playoff performer that he’s been throughout his career. He is a special talent, and they need him to take this game over to win it. There’s a lot of time left, and Allen will surely be relishing the opportunity to go into Jacksonville and break some hearts.
