Bills TE Dawson Knox On Josh Allen, Dalton Kincaid Injuries in Divisional Loss to Broncos

A lot of things went Buffalo’s way in its Divisional Round showdown with the Denver Broncos. However, the car came apart due to a late collapse, and Allen threw two interceptions on the day.

While the controversial catch call between Brandin Cooks and Ja’Quan McMillian left many debating, there was more going on behind the scenes.

Bills tight end Dawson Knox appeared on former Buffalo center Mitch Morse’s show, where he mentioned the injuries the team dealt with in the Divisional Round game.

“Josh was dealing with a foot injury (broken foot),” Knox said. “Dalton had a torn PCL that he was playing through.”

Whether these injuries had a perceived impact on the matchup is unclear. Allen still completed 64.1% of his passes for 283 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 66 yards on 12 carries. Kincaid, on the other hand, caught six balls for 83 yards and a score.

“On @MMwithMitch Dawson Knox with some [injury tea],” the Thigh Doctor captioned the video on X. “Josh Allen played through broken foot… Dalton Kincaid played on torn PCL.”

If Allen had to undergo surgery for a Jones fracture, it would reportedly take around eight to 10 weeks to heal. However, surgery would only be necessary if some regions of the bone don’t heal fast enough.

While Kincaid would be out for around six to seven months if he went under the knife for his PCL, which he had injured twice now, the odds of surgery seem slim due to it not being a complete tear.

While the two star players’ injuries could be used as an excuse for the Bills’ loss to the Broncos, their health challenges stand more as a testament to NFL players’ grit.

With the offseason now upon us, Allen, Kincaid, and the rest of the roster can rest up and recover for the next round that’ll start after the 2026 NFL Draft.

For now, all eyes will be on who the Bills hire as their next head coach following Sean McDermott’s firing.
