The New Orleans Saints got one of the top receivers in the 2026 NFL Draft. They used their No. 8 selection on Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson. The New Orleans Saints needed to give their budding QB Tyler Shough some weapons to elevate this offense and the Saints are pairing him with Chris Olave on the outside. The NFL world took to social media to give their thoughts on the Tyson pick.
NFL World Reacts to Jordyn Tyson Heading to New Orleans
The Saints’ offense is going to be fun to watch in 2026. With Shough emerging as a young QB, a backfield of Travis Etienne Jr. and potentially Alvin Kamara, and the tandem of Olave and Tyson, it should be quite the upgrade from last season.
New Orleans ranked 26th in PFSN’s Offense Impact score in 2025. Picking Tyson will likely help the Saints move up these rankings in 2026.
“Had predicted Downs, but Tyson had a lot of late momentum. Huge weapon for Tyler Shough,” wrote Ross Jackson on X.
“Titans get sophomore QB Cam Ward help in Carnell Tate. Saints do the same for Tyler Shough with Jordyn Tyson,” added Clint Lamb.
Look I wanted to see Caleb Downs on the Saints….but if you’re trying to take that next step as an offense, giving Tyler Shough a duo of Chris Olave and Jordyn Tyson makes a ton of sense.
Also…it’s nice to see the front office invest in WR. Us fans have been asking for it.

Tyson was also extremely emotional after getting drafted in a very touching moment, walking up to the stage and dropping to his knees.

He was emotional, and Dez Bryant was ready on social media to support Tyson’s display of emotion.
“It’s okay to cry bro! This your moment!” said Bryant.

Tyson was thrilled to have his moment after doubts surrounded his pre-draft process because of injury concerns. He hasn’t always been the healthiest, but when on the field he is a problem for defenses.
PFSN gave this selection a B grade. The Saints didn’t quite reach on talent, but injury concerns and potential other needs for New Orleans play a role in this grade for the Saints.
