The Green Bay Packers have been ravaged by injuries this season, and now those issues have infiltrated the quarterback room. Not only did the Packers lose starter Jordan Love to a concussion during the last game, but backup Malik Willis was also banged up with a shoulder injury.
Love is still in concussion protocol, and it remains to be seen whether he will be able to clear it before Saturday’s game. However, both Love and Willis were able to practice in some capacity on Tuesday.
Injury Updates on Jordan Love and Malik Willis Shape the Packers’ QB Outlook for Week 17
The Packers are still fighting for their playoff lives, needing one more win or a Detroit Lions loss to clinch their spot. Yet it appears there is a possibility the Packers will have to start their third-string quarterback on Saturday.
According to Jonathan Jones, Love and Willis were limited at practice on Tuesday. Head coach Matt LaFleur said, “By no means are they in the clear.”
Packers QBs Jordan Love (concussion) and Malik Willis (shoulder) will be limited at practice today. “By no means are they in the clear,” Matt LaFleur says when asked about their progress early in the week.

While it is still early in the week, that is not the most encouraging response from LaFleur. The Packers will need one of those two quarterbacks to be active to avoid having to use someone who has played no snaps this season.
The Packers have a tough test on Saturday, facing the Baltimore Ravens, who are also playing for their playoff lives. If the Ravens lose this game, they will be out of the playoff race, so they should come into Lambeau Field highly motivated.
Jordan Love is Having a Strong Season
One reason the Packers have been as successful as they are is due to Love. He has played at a high level this season, throwing 23 touchdown passes and only six interceptions across 15 games.
According to PFSN, Love has a QB Impact Score of 87.5, which ranks fourth best in the NFL. He has led the Packers offense to 24.3 points per game and 344.7 yards per game. When Love is healthy, the Packers have a chance to compete in every game, which can make them a threat in the postseason.
While the Packers still have hopes of winning the NFC North title, those hopes are slim. If Green Bay reaches the postseason, it will likely be as a wild card. That means Love and Co. would face challenging road games in January.
