Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love finally gets his chance to be the starter after sitting behind Aaron Rodgers for three years. By all accounts, Love has improved considerably, but is he ready to be a fantasy asset? Should fantasy football managers draft Love at his ADP this season?

Jordan Love’s Fantasy Outlook for the 2023 NFL Season
From a real-life standpoint, Love is a very polarizing player. The expectations for him range from franchise savior to unmitigated disaster.
If Love had started as a rookie, it probably would’ve been the latter. He just wasn’t ready. But he’s had three years to sit behind Rodgers, and he certainly has looked competent in limited action and in the preseason.
Given that Love has 83 career pass attempts in three professional seasons, there’s not much we have to go on. That makes him difficult to evaluate but also presents a potential value proposition.
The Packers have better offensive weapons than they had last season. Christian Watson is another year more experienced, and they spent a second-round pick n Jayden Reed, who should immediately start as the team’s WR3. They also have Romeo Doubs, although I don’t really consider him a positive.
Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon both return and each is capable of contributing in the passing game.
Unfortunately, Love is not a particularly mobile quarterback. He can move around in the pocket and scramble when needed — he’s not Philip Rivers — but this is a player who rushed for 403 yards on 170 carries in 37 college games.
For Love to be a quality fantasy quarterback, he’s going to need to throw a lot of touchdowns. I’m just not sure I can project that.
Is Love a Good Fantasy Pick?
Love’s ADP sits at QB22, No. 169 overall. He’s not going to be drafted in single-quarterback leagues.
I’m a little higher on Love, ranking him at QB19, but that’s still well beyond the QBs you need to concern yourself with outside of Superflex. He is the QB21 in our PFN consensus rankings.

My theory on Love is simply that he’s a black box. He’s an unknown. I know what guys like Derek Carr, Matthew Stafford, and Jimmy Garoppolo are.
If I’m taking a shot on a low QB2, I’d rather it be someone like Love, with an unknown ceiling, rather than one of these veterans with capped upside. But either way, my starter in a single-QB league will not be this far down.
