John Harbaugh was recently hired to take over as the new head coach of the New York Giants, replacing Brian Daboll. He will now compete in the NFC East, including against the Philadelphia Eagles. This appears to be a challenge he’s well aware of after praising Nick Sirianni as an elite coach.
What Did New Giants Head Coach John Harbaugh Say in Praise of Eagles’ Nick Sirianni?
Harbaugh is widely regarded by many in the NFL as one of the best coaches in the game today. His consistent success with the Baltimore Ravens, including winning a Super Bowl ring, demonstrate his overall value in the position.
He is set for a new challenge this year after accepting the role with the Giants, who will be the just the second NFL team he has been a head coach for. He discussed the transition on an episode of “The Howard Eskin Show” and raved about Sirianni in the process.
“I think Nick does a great job. I think Nick Sirianni is one of the best coaches in football right now. Just look at his record. He’s got a great supporting cast there, Howie Roseman and Jeffrey Lurie and the whole organization, but he’s got a team. I think he does great job coaching his team and they reflect his personality in the way that they play, and that’s a cool, good thing. He’s not afraid to be himself, and to me it starts with that,” explained Harbaugh.

The Eagles and Giants play against each other twice every season as members of the NFC East division. Philadelphia has won the division title in each of the past two seasons and also won the Super Bowl just one year ago. All of this contributes to Harbaugh’s glowing analysis of Sirianni, who has been their head coach for each of the past five seasons.

The Eagles have an impressive 65-30 overall record under Sirianni, winning three division titles and two conference championships during those five years. the Ravens have found similar success under Harbaugh, including a 193-124 record with six AFC North division titles in 18 years. Both head coaches have won a Super Bowl as well.
Harbaugh is apparently ready to take on the challenge of competing with Sirianni now that he is officially the Giants’ head coach. He will look to do so with promising quarterback Jaxson Dart, who finished 18th in PFSN’s QB Impact Metric last year, despite only making 12 starts during his rookie season.
