The New York Giants are delighting their fans with their early picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, and this hasn’t gone unnoticed by Breiden Fehoko, a former Los Angeles Chargers defensive lineman, who noted how John Harbaugh is “saving Joe Schoen’s a**”.
Breiden Fehoko Praised the New York Giants’ Draft Picks
In a social media post, Fehoko said that the “Giants are going federal in this draft,” and noted that the franchise is having its best draft in history, even with many rounds still to go.
His post caption read: “The New York Football Giants are going federal in this draft. John Harbaugh saving Joe Schoen a** right now. Cause the giants have never drafted this well.”
In the first round, the No. 5 pick was linebacker Arvell Reese (Ohio State), while the No. 10 pick went to Francis Mauigoa (offensive lineman, Miami). In the second round, the team selected cornerback Colton Hood (Tennessee).

It’s worth noting that the Giants (who rank No. 6 in the PFSN Offense Impact metric with a B grade) still hold the No. 105 and No. 145 picks in the fourth and fifth rounds, respectively.
In the sixth round, New York will have the No. 186, 192, and 193 picks, two of which were acquired in previous trades with the Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys.
These picks show that the Giants are focusing on strengthening their front lines for the upcoming NFL season. Reese proved himself to be an elite pass rusher in college football, raising questions about Kayvon Thibodeaux’s future given the abundance of talent available to pressure opposing quarterbacks.
“He used that strength consistently to stack-and-shed in the run game, plaster solo blockers into the turf as a blitzer, and make solo stops in gap invasion. Meanwhile, his range and fluidity make him dangerous as a rusher, and his lean, platinum-forged length and frame grants him awe-inspiring power capacity on long-arms and bull-rushes, when utilized with his elite explosive edge. The questions with Reese’s profile stem from his ultimate projection.” says the PFSN’s Scouting Report.

Another first-round pick, Mauigoa proved to be an aggressive player both in run blocking and pass protection during his final college season. His versatility allows him to play right tackle or shift to guard, as was also highlighted in our Scouting Report HQ.
“At 6’6″, 335 pounds, Mauigoa has exceptional mass and inbuilt power, and he’s a nimble, explosive, and rangy mover with easy hip flexibility, torque, and realignment freedom. More than that, he’s already an incredibly balanced mover and an advanced hand-fighter, who specializes as an opportunistic attacker with situational adaptability. Momentary lapses in intensity occasionally appear on his tape, and his middling length might hint at a more productive NFL future as a guard.”
