‘See You Both in Hell’ — Radio Legend Blasts Mike Vrabel, Dianna Russini for Viral Clip Discussing Patriots HC’s Wife

Jim Rome torches Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini over a resurfaced interview clip that he noted felt like a disturbing inside joke.

The Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini scandal continues to pick up steam. The 2026 NFL Draft was this weekend, yet it’s their affair that remains a hotter topic. What started as viral photos of the couple at a resort in Arizona has now turned into one of the biggest off-field storylines in recent NFL memory, overshadowing parts of draft weekend.

As more footage and photos continue to surface, the conversation has shifted from curiosity to criticism, with media figures and fans alike questioning how the situation ever reached this point.

Jim Rome Rips Viral Mike Vrabel, Dianna Russini Clip

The latest clip to resurface is an interview that Russini did with Vrabel shortly after he was named the head coach of the New England Patriots.

The two discuss Vrabel’s wife, Jen, and her aptitude for tennis and ping pong. Legendary radio host Jim Rome addressed the clip and didn’t mince words.

“I mean, guys. What are you thinking there?” Rome said on his self-titled podcast on Sunday. “What are we doing here? How can you go there? How can you be unaware of the possibility? Because at this point, the two of them were carrying on. And she brings up his wife?”

Rome’s disgust centered on the fact that they are discussing Vrabel’s wife at all and the tone of the interaction. What may have once felt like a casual exchange now carries a completely different weight, given everything that has come to light.

“One, how can you do that? And two, how can you be so unaware that one day that clip would make both of you look absolutely horrible?” Rome added.

The clip itself is not new, but in the current context, it has taken on a life of its own and is being viewed as far more telling of the dynamic between the two.

Rome went even further, calling out how the conversation referenced Vrabel’s wife in a way that now feels impossible to ignore.

“I mean, that is all kinds of messed up,” Rome said. “That’s the type of thing that has commenters saying, ‘See you both in hell.’ You’re talking about the man’s wife in an interview, like it’s some inside joke between the two of you. Completely jacked up. The two of you are talking about her?”

It’s also worth noting that Vrabel takes a subtle dig at his wife during the exchange, as Russini describes Jen as an athlete and the Patriots head coach clarifies that she “used to be.”

Vrabel Takes Accountability While Stepping Away From the Patriots

While the criticism has been loud, Vrabel has begun addressing the situation publicly. The Patriots head coach acknowledged the scrutiny and said he is taking steps to improve, including seeking counseling. He missed Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft to begin that process, signaling how serious the situation has become internally.

Still, the controversy has not eased up. Reports of past sightings, including an earlier date  night in New York City from six years ago, have only added to the narrative. Each new detail leads to more questions about how long this had been going on and who may have known.

When Vrabel addressed the media last week, he admitted to having “some difficult conversations” and acknowledged that he needs to do better.

“We believe that in order to be successful on and off the field, you have to make good decisions,” Vrabel told reporters. “That includes me, that starts with me. We never want our actions to negatively affect the team. We never want to be the cause of a distraction.”

It’s too late for that, as this has become about the biggest distraction imaginable to the point that Vrabel wasn’t in the Patriots’ war room to make eight of their 11 picks on Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft. And, unfortunately for Vrabel, this controversy and mainstream interest in it don’t show any signs of slowing down in the near future.
