Jets Predicted To Land 28-TD ‘High-Quality WR2 Option’ To Complement Garrett Wilson

PFSN's latest mock draft has the New York Jets targeting KC Concepcion to serve as a high-quality WR2 option for Garrett Wilson.

The New York Jets are going to need far more than just Geno Smith as the new quarterback to fix the franchise. After decades of mediocrity, they need a complete overhaul, and the process seems to be underway.

However, the offense still needs a lot more to compete with some of the league’s more prolific units. As a result, one analyst believes adding a wide receiver in the 2026 NFL Draft needs to be among their top priorities.

Jets Find Wide Receiver Help in NFL Draft

Last season, the organization bit the bullet on the Aaron Rodgers era and was ready to start anew with a new head coach in Aaron Glenn. Signing Justin Fields to be their starting quarterback, they had to quickly shift to Tyrod Taylor and Brady Cook.

None of the three options was a viable long-term answer, as the Jets finished with just three wins. As a result, they traded Fields to the Kansas City Chiefs and brought in a replacement option in Smith, who should be a massive upgrade, at least in theory.

But the woes of the offense, which ranked at number 29 on PFSN’s Offense Impact, weren’t limited to the quarterback alone. The wide receiver group was in shambles, with their lead receiver, Garrett Wilson, finishing the season with 395 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns in eight games.

Coming back from injury, he should be able to shoulder some of the offensive burden. But Ian Cummings of PFSN believes New York needs more firepower to continue their rebuild. As a result, he has them targeting KC Concepcion with the 16th overall pick in his latest mock draft.

“In the 2026 NFL Draft, KC Concepcion stands out as a high-quality WR2 option. At 6-foot, 196 pounds, he’s sometimes billed as a slot-only WR, but he has true press-beating chops, exhilarating explosiveness, and extremely acute angle flexibility on route breaks.”

Spending his first two years at NC State, he transferred to Texas A&M last year and enjoyed his most productive season to date. Adding 919 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns for the Aggies through the air, he ranked at number 19 on PFSN’s CFB WR Impact.

Ranked as the fourth-best wide receiver prospect by PFSN, he finished his collegiate career with 2,649 total yards and 28 total touchdowns.

Now, as the Jets continue to build out the rest of the roster for their long-term answer at quarterback, presumably arriving in the draft in the near future, Concepcion could become a perfect pairing for him.
