Monday Night Football’s Week 4 doubleheader of the 2025 NFL season kicks off with the New York Jets traveling south to face the Miami Dolphins under the bright lights at Hard Rock Stadium. It’s an AFC East showdown between two 0-3 teams, each desperate to add their first mark to the win column.
New York is coming off a narrow 29-27 loss to the Buccaneers with backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor filling in for the concussed Justin Fields. Fields, however, is set to return for Monday night, but Gang Green’s offense will be required to be better to avoid a 0-4 start, especially Breece Hall, who has been limited to just 50 rushing yards over his last two games. A matchup against a struggling Dolphins defense presents possibly the best chance to get back on track and regain confidence.
For Miami, the long layoff after their 31-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night has only amplified concerns. The Dolphins’ offense has lacked the spark this season under head coach Mike McDaniel, contributing to the franchise’s worst start since 2019. Even with stars like Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle, Miami ranks outside the top 20 in offense through three weeks, while the defense has been just as problematic, allowing 30-plus points in each of their outings.
So, who will be on the field and who will be inactive when these two teams square off in the first game of Monday Night Football?
Inactive List for Jets vs. Dolphins
The big news for New York is that Justin Fields will start after being cleared from the concussion protocol and practicing all week.
