The New York Jets are hitting turbulence. Winless so far this season, their troubles mount as star RB Breece Hall went down on Oct. 19, 2025 after what looked like a brutal hip-drop tackle. Fortunately, it was ruled as a minor ankle injury.
With a road clash against the Bengals coming up, the Jets must shuffle their offense and hope someone steps up in the backfield. After a Week 7 loss to the Panthers, fans are feeling the sting. Hall’s absence makes their already grim quest for a first win even tougher, keeping the Jets firmly at the bottom of the NFL standings.
Will the Jets allow Breece Hall to play against the Cincinnati Bengals?
The quick answer is likely yes that Hall will play against the Bengals in week 8.
But “should he?” is the real question? Since it was a minor ankle injury, Aaron Glenn, coach of the Jets, said, “Breece Hall banged up but should be fine for Cincy.”
The Jets be on the road to play the Bengals in week 8, and now that Joe Flacco is there, it is definitely going to be an interesting game. Hall would be a good asset to play in this game, but if the injury is worse than speculated, then it might be smarter for him to sit out against the Bengals.
The Jets have their “Bye” week after, so rest will be possible. What is everyone wondering: does Hall rest now, or does he rest during the bye week? Time will tell, but most likely Hall will play. New York, as of right now, has the 30th-ranked offense, according to the PFSN Offense Impact Metric, with a grade of D-.
If the team continues with their losing streak, the season is essentially over, whether Hall plays in the following week or sits to recover from his injury. Jets fans really have to look forward to a better season next year for their team. They can get a better draft pick, which will hopefully not result in the same losing streak they have this season. But who knows, anything can happen.
Another topic up for debate is whether Hall should be traded. Fans believe Hall deserves a better team, and from the stats of the Jets, maybe they are right. Hall is a good running back, and he does deserve to be with a winning team.
Whether the Jets become that for him is up to interpretation. Glenn has canceled the rumors circling that Hall could be moved. It looks like he will not leave the Jets anytime soon.
For now, it’s a waiting game to see if Hall will play, and whether he does or doesn’t, will the Jets be able to win this week? Or will they remain the losers of the NFL? It’s up to them to answer that question.
