‘This Is Nasty’ — Jerry Jones’ Daughter Charlotte Draws Backlash From Cowboys Fans For Micah Parsons Comments

Micah Parsons' contract dispute is an ongoing headache for Jerry Jones. See Cowboys fans react to his daughter Charlotte's latest comments.

Jerry Jones, Micah Parsons, and the Dallas Cowboys have been locked in a contract dispute for many months. The two-time first-team All-Pro is entering the final season of his rookie contract, but has not received a worthy extension offer.

Jones’s daughter, Cowboys’ co-owner and chief brand officer Charlotte Jones, recently commented about the contract dispute, and Dallas fans are not pleased.

Like Father, Like Daughter for Cowboys Fans and Micah Parsons?

Parsons is set to play in 2025 on his fifth-year option, which the Cowboys picked up last offseason. He will make just over $24 million this season, but he is certainly worth much more. Parsons has watched as fellow edge defenders Maxx Crosby, Myles Garrett, and T.J. Watt received massive extensions, yet a deal has not been made.

By waiting to complete a deal, the Cowboys will now have to offer Parsons a deal worth more than $41 million annually (Watt’s contract). Dallas fans were disgruntled enough seeing him placed low in the Top 100 players list. But Charlotte’s recent comments downplaying the situation have re-ignited the fanbase.

Cowboys reporter R.J. Ochoa recently tweeted Charlotte’s lengthy comments on the NFL Network about Parsons, where she claimed that the situation is a big deal only because the Cowboys receive more “interest” than other teams.

Charlotte said, “It does happen all of the time. And again I think that’s a testament to people’s interest. That whatever we are doing… there are other contract holdouts across the league. Everyone deals with the same issue. We just happen to be on this stage of interest that is more magnified than most.”

Charlotte then insinuated that the Cowboys don’t have the money to pay Parsons since the “pie” is spread across the rest of the roster. It was a strange comment from one of the team’s co-owners. Cowboys fans then took to X to react…negatively.

Fans’ Trust Seems To Fade Away With Charlotte Jones’ Comments

One fan kept it simple, tweeting, “Oh this is nasty,” with a crying-laughing face emoji. Let’s just say, this was the kindest comment!

One fan called out the family by tweeting, “Lmao man these people are so removed from the team they supposedly run it’s insane.” The reactions showed that a group of Cowboys fans was hoping that Charlotte would take over the team one day.

Those fans seem to have changed their tune, with one tweeting, “She was our last hope, but she sounds just as silly and clueless as Tweedledee and Tweedledum.”

Another tweeted, “And there are people who think she’s a better fit than Jerry or Stephen. My god, no, she’s cut from the same cloth! The disease runs throughout the family & there’s only one way to get it out,” backing the same sentiment.

A couple of fans focused on Charlotte’s pie reference, with one tweeting, “She’s talking about pie @Not2BeTrite, she was supposed to be the savior.” Another tweeted, “It had been a long time since we had heard a reference to pie. That it was Charlotte who said it… Obi-Wan and Anakin vibes.”

In general, Cowboys fans weren’t happy with Charlotte’s comments, with one prominent podcast host tweeting, “The rot is deep in the front office.” With so many negative stories and playoff heartbreaks in the last few years, Jerry isn’t as well-liked by the fans as he once was. Now, Charlotte is beginning to feel the wrath of the fanbase.

One fan called out Charlotte for saying that the team is focused on the “issue at hand,” tweeting, “Love Charlotte, but how tf are they focusing on the issue at hand when Jerry hasn’t talked to Micah’s agent since March?” Another has lost faith in Charlotte, tweeting, “Cool, so add Charlotte to the list of Jones’ I despise with Jerry and Stephen. Foh!”

Dallas hasn’t reached the NFC Championship Game in nearly 30 years, and refusing to get a deal done with the team’s best defensive player isn’t sending the right message to the fans. The Cowboys have one of the most devoted fan bases in the NFL, but how much can one group of fans take?
