After his NFL preseason debut against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Cardinals rookie has received some upsetting news.

During the NFL preseason debut, Love rushed for 58 yards on 11 carries and caught 3 passes for 14 yards, helping the Cardinals enjoy a 27-14 win.
During Thursday’s showdown against the Raiders, Love injured his ankle, which is why Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur revealed on Saturday that the rookie will rest for one week.
LaFleur said that while Love was in “great spirits” till Friday, he was sore than he felt on Thursday.

Some fans took issue with the Cardinals’ decision to play Love that long against the Raiders. One said, “Should’ve never been in that long.” Another fan added, “That’s inexcusable… come on Mike.”

However, one fan offered support and wrote, “Hope he recovers quickly. We lost a rookie already in a flash. So as annoying as it is not to see him play maybe it’s time to shut him down for the preseason”
The hope is that this is just a precaution from the Cardinals, and Love will be ready to play at full health when games start to matter in September. Until then, other running backs on the roster will have a chance to impress the coaches.
In their next preseason game, the Cardinals are set to go against the Dallas Cowboys on Aug. 22, Saturday, at 10 p.m. ET at State Farm Stadium.
The Cowboys matchup would be the Cardinals’ third preseason game, and Love has ample time to fully recover before the regular-season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers.
