Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich had the rug pulled from under him following the 2025 NFL Draft. After a rocky week for the assistant coach, we take a look at his salary, net worth, and how the two are affected by the $100,000 fine he recently received from the NFL.

Jeff Ulbrich Hit With $100,000 Fine for Breach of Data Protection
Ulbrich is a new hire for the Falcons in 2025 and was heavily backed in his first draft with the team. The Falcons were celebrating an aggressive draft in which they took two edge rushers in the first round, followed by two more defensive playmakers in Rounds 3 and 4. But those celebrations were soon cut short, as it emerged that Ulbrich’s son, Jax, was responsible for the infamous prank call received by Shedeur Sanders on draft weekend.
During the draft, a video was released of Sanders answering what he believed to be a call from an NFL team that intended to select him. After the caller claimed to be New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis, Sanders responded enthusiastically. The caller would then tell Sanders that he’d have to “wait a little longer,” before hanging up.
A video from the other end of the call was later released, with Jax recognized as one of the people responsible. It emerged that Jax had taken Sanders’ number from his father’s tablet, which the Falcons coach had left open at home. The league has since fined the Falcons $250,000 and Ulbrich $100,000 for their part in the breach of data.
Ulbrich’s Yearly Salary and Net Worth
Ultimately, the humiliation and reputational damage suffered by Ulbrich for the incident with his son will be far more impactful than the monetary loss. Ulbrich’s annual salary is reported to be $1.6 million, making the fine just one-sixteenth of his salary.
There is less certainty regarding the coach’s net worth, however, with varying reports estimating figures between $5 million and $10 million. 2025 will be Ulbrich’s sixth year as an NFL defensive coordinator. Having held the role in Atlanta in 2020, Ulbrich was then the defensive coordinator for the New York Jets from 2021. After the firing of Robert Saleh in 2024, Ulbrich stepped in as the team’s interim head coach for the final 12 games of the year, winning three.
The coach escaped punishment from the Falcons in regard to the data breach, something which divided opinions among NFL fans. The team, the Ulbrichs, and the Sanders’ would no doubt all like to put the incident behind them and prepare for the 2025 season.
