Jaylen Warren Injury Update: Latest on the Steelers RB After Exiting Week 11 vs. Bengals

Jaylen Warren suffered an injury in Week 11 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Here's the latest on the Pittsburgh Steelers RB's status.

The Pittsburgh Steelers should have had an easy time scoring points against a bad Cincinnati Bengals defense. It hasn’t been the case for Pittsburgh, though, scoring only 10 points in the first half, and the offense hasn’t scored yet, midway through the third quarter. It just got even harder as their starting running back, Jaylen Warren, left the game with an apparent injury.

What Happened to Jaylen Warren?

In the third quarter, Warren limped off the field with an ankle injury. The Steelers have just lost Aaron Rodgers to an injury and also lost Warren.

Warren is questionable to return against the Bengals. The Steelers desperately need this win, and losing Warren is far from ideal.

Warren had 62 yards on only 10 carries before leaving the game. He has two catches for five yards, too. Expect Kenneth Gainwell and rookie Kaleb Johnson to take the carries if Warren cannot return. Warren was a pivotal piece of the Pittsburgh offense against the Bengals, as he was averaging over six yards per carry. The passing attack has been serviceable, but not dangerous enough to threaten the defense.

Warren is the 15th-ranked running back in PFSN’s RB Impact score with an impact score of 81.0. He’s been a reliable option for Pittsburgh and the clear primary option in the backfield. Gainwell has helped out in spurts throughout the season, but it’s Warren’s backfield. It was puzzling to see him off the field with the Steelers in the red zone after his strong start to the game.

The Steelers’ defense has got the offense’s back. They’ve allowed just nine points through three quarters and even added a touchdown of their own on a Kyle Dugger pick-six off of Joe Flacco. It’s looking good for the Steelers. They carry a double-digit lead into the fourth quarter, looking to avenge their early-season defeat to Cincinnati and Flacco. Flacco torched them last time, but not today.

The Steelers will focus on securing a win and then turn their attention to the latest updates on their running back and quarterback. This game will shape the outlook of their season as a win puts them back in control of the division, while a loss would give the Ravens a chance to tie them at the top of the division.
