Before beginning his NFL career, New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart appeared on “SportsCenter” to discuss his NFL Draft preparations, but it was his “Star Wars” fandom that ended up stealing the spotlight.
To be fair, Dart’s love for the iconic franchise is nothing new, he’s even incorporated Star Wars themes into his gameday routine.

Jaxson Dart Discusses His Love Of ‘Star Wars’
Dart was asked about how his “Star Wars” fandom started, and he shared its origins.
“Quite honestly, it’s just been my favorite since I was a little kid,” Dart said. “I didn’t really see any other way. I go back to even in high school, going to Disney Land to make my own lightsabers. It’s something that I love.”
Dart has clearly been a longtime fan of the franchise, and in recent years, he’s found creative ways to show that love on the football field.
When asked about his distinctive eye black, which drew plenty of attention during his time at Ole Miss, Dart revealed that it was inspired by Anakin Skywalker. He went on to explain how the unique look first came about.
“I did it back in my junior year of high school,” Dart stated. “Initially, when I did it, I didn’t think of it that way. You know, it’s kind of just evolved, the way that I’ve thought about it.
“The first time that I saw it, it was on an LSU defensive back. I thought, ‘Uh, maybe I shouldn’t do that because I’m a quarterback and it was on a DB.’ But I did it on one eye, and someone pointed it out to me.”
One of Dart’s friends, who is also a huge Star Wars enthusiast, pointed out the resemblance to Anakin’s scar.
“Ever since then, I kind of ran with it,” he said.
At the end of his interview on “SportsCenter,” Dart was asked a couple of questions to keep the mood light while using his knowledge of the film franchise to make some real comps. The first question was which position would be best suited for Chewbacca?
“Tight end,” Dart answered.
When asked whether R2-D2 or C3PO would be a better offensive coordinator, Dart wisely chose C3PO. We also found out that his first crush was Princess Leia and that he’d rather have a boys’ night out in Las Vegas with Han Solo than Luke Skywalker.
It’s hard to argue with any of Dart’s answers, and with him now being the face of the Giants’ franchise, we just hope the locker room has some other Star Wars fans he can nerd out with.
