Giants QB Jaxson Dart Made NFL History in Week 10 vs. Bears

Jaxson Dart sets a new NFL record in the Giants' game against the Bears in Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season.

Jaxson Dart has been a bright spot for the struggling New York Giants during the 2025 NFL season. His rookie year appears to be generating hope that he may be their long-term answer at quarterback.

Setting new NFL records is one to demonstrate value and put a stamp on an impressive season. The quarterback did precisely that in Week 10, and it wasn’t just one for rookies.

Jaxson Dart Sets a New NFL Record

Dart has excelled in many areas since replacing Russell Wilson as the Giants’ starting quarterback this year, but his rushing contributions may be the most impressive. He scored five rushing touchdowns across his first six starts and set a new NFL record in his seventh career game.

He became the first quarterback in NFL history, not just among rookies, to score a rushing touchdown in five consecutive games. He set the record when he scored one against the Chicago Bears in Week 10, before punching in a second one for his seventh rushing touchdown in as many career starts.

“Jaxson Dart stays breaking records,” posted the Giants to share the incredible accomplishment.

He entered Week 10 ranked 16th among all quarterbacks on PFSN’s Impact Rankings this year. After scoring two more rushing touchdowns against the Bears, he could climb even higher than that by the end of the week. Wilson, the accomplished veteran who he replaced to take over the job, ranks just 33rd this season.

He has also clearly been the best rookie quarterback this year, with Cam Ward (35th) and Dillon Gabriel (37th) trailing him by a wide margin. The early indications are that the Giants have found the long-term option at quarterback that head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen have been desperately seeking.

The two of them entered this season seemingly in the hot seat, but potentially finding a franchise quarterback is one thing that would likely save their jobs. They want all-in on the position during the offseason, adding veterans Wilson and Jameis Winston. They supplemented this by making a bold move in the Draft.

The Giants traded back into the first round to select Dart, after using their first pick on Abdul Carter. They opened the season with Wilson as their starter, but the rookie earned the primary backup role, while Winston served as the emergency third-stringer. It took just three games for the rookie to earn his chance as the starter, and seven weeks later, he has become one of the most exciting players at his position.
