The 2026 FIFA World Cup is underway, and as countless cultures from around the globe converge in the United States of America, NFL icons Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce had something to say. With 48 nations visiting North America, differences in sporting culture quickly stood out, and the American soccer fans are not looking great.
Jason and Travis Kelce Believe USA Fans’ Chants Pale in Comparison to Rest of the World
Soccer fans in Latin America and Europe are famous for their passionate cheering for their teams. The sport is the biggest on earth, and it shows in how Europeans and others support their countries and clubs.
Interestingly, their passion seems to underscore the apparent lack of it among the American fans, who are known for a very different approach to cheering for their teams compared to fans in other countries.
Jason and Travis discussed the matter on “New Heights.” The older Kelce brother was visibly frustrated by American fans’ chants, which pale in comparison to the fiery, often inappropriate chants of other fans.
“I do remember distinctly thinking how much better [at] watching soccer Brazilians were than Americans,” Jason said. “You go to the World Cup as an American, they’re like, ‘I believe that we can win! I believe that we can win!’ It’s like, ‘What the f**k are we here for?’ That is the fu***ng most loser mentality chant I have ever heard in my entire life.”

European fans are famed for their creative chants that unapologetically cross into insults. At an English soccer game, thousands of fans aimed a chant at a goalkeeper who wasn’t doing much, repeating, “You’re just a fat bloke in a jumper!”
Another fan favorite across the pond is “He’s here, he’s there, he’s every-f***ing-where” for a highly energetic player.
“I did it [the ‘loser’ chant],” Jason added. “I’m an American at the game, I’m gonna do it. But I felt like a complete loser, saying, ‘I think that we can win!’ What the f**k? So you’re saying there are people who don’t believe (they can win)? It’s just a weird f***ing chant.”
Amused, Travis asked Jason for a Brazilian chant.

“I don’t remember exactly,” Jason responded. “But they’re saying something like, ‘Chi chi chi! Le le le!’ We asked one of the Brazilians, I said, ‘What does that mean?’ And they said, ‘We came here to f**k Chile,’ and I was like, ‘Yeah, they’re better at it. They’re better at it than we are.'”
The FIFA World Cup has only just started, and fans are guaranteed some hilarious experiences as the tournament rolls on.
