In NFL Week 11, the Pittsburgh Steelers played host to the Cincinnati Bengals. It’s always contentious when division rivals play each other, and this weekend was no different as the Steelers sought to avenge their loss to the Bengals last month.
Late in the game, things got extra chippy between Ja’Marr Chase and Jalen Ramsey. Now both players are speaking out, and one, Chase, is being called a liar by a former Super Bowl winner.

Damien Woody Shreds Ja’Marr Chase After Spitting Incident
Steelers-Bengals games are notoriously physical. The two teams have a long history, so it isn’t surprising that Ramsey and Chase spent a good part of the game talking trash to each other.
Ultimately, that talk turned physical, and Ramsey ended up getting ejected for throwing a punch at Chase, but the veteran corner claimed after the game that he was spat on. Video evidence seems to confirm this, and two-time Super Bowl Champion Damien Woody didn’t hold back on Monday morning.
On ESPN’s “Get Up” on Monday morning, the panel discussed the incident. Woody, as a former player, took special exception to Chase’s actions.
“It’s the most disrespectful thing that you can do to another man,” said Woody about the spitting. “That is unacceptable from Ja’Marr Chase, and I’m going to correct you Greeny (Mike Greenberg), he (Chase) is a liar. He is a liar.”
Chase claims that he didn’t spit on Ramsey, which is why Woody called him a liar.
“I never opened my mouth to that guy … I didn’t spit on nobody,” Chase said.
However, the following video appears to show that Chase did, in fact, spit on Ramsey.

Woody spent 12 seasons in the NFL, so he knows how competitive players can be. However, spitting is often cited as a line you just don’t cross.
The league will reportedly investigate the incident and could decide to penalize Chase and/or Ramsey further. Jalen Carter of the Philadelphia Eagles was booted from a game before the first snap back in September for spitting on Dak Prescott, and since Chase wasn’t ejected, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him get a one-week ban.
Ramsey may have been ejected, but he ended up getting the last laugh as his Steelers walked away with a dominant 34-12 win. Chase also had one of his worst games of the season, catching just three passes for 30 yards.

Meanwhile, Ramsey collected four tackles and one pass breakup before leaving in the fourth. The Steelers’ defense held the Bengals to under 300 total yards of offense and forced two turnovers.
The Bengals are slated to take on the New England Patriots in Week 12, and they’d definitely prefer to have their star receiver in tow. The Patriots are one of the best teams in the league at 9-2, while the Bengals are sitting at 3-7.
