The 2025 NFL Draft from Green Bay, Wisc., is now just over two weeks away, and players continue to ensure their value is seen. With one of the more unique drafts in recent history, anyone could land anywhere. Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe understands that people doubt him. However, in his eyes, the doubt does not faze him.

Jalen Milroe Will Not Let Doubters Sway Unwavering Self-Belief
The dual-threat QB joined NFL Network, where he was asked how he deals with those who question his ability to sit in the pocket.

“Look, the objective is to get a first down, keep stacking drives, and get a touchdown,” Milroe said. “No matter what it is, whether it’s the passing game or the running game. So, if I choose to run the ball and score, coach ain’t gonna be mad at me and say, ‘Jalen, why’d you score the touchdown?'”
He went further into detail about how he can provide a key influence to a team under center, comparing it to basketball.
“Vise versa, if I go through my progressions and hit an in-cut and that player runs and scores a touchdown, the coach ain’t gonna be like, ‘Jalen why didn’t you run the ball?’ It’s whatever the play call requires, and being a point guard and shooting the ball so we can make explosive plays on offense.
“Doing things so we can stack drives, continue to move the ball, manage the time, the distance, everything that is implemented into game planning.”
The 700-yard rusher in 2024 does not see his capabilities as a hindrance but rather as an advantage.

“I don’t consider it a challenge; I consider it a superpower,” Milroe said. “It’s traits that people don’t have, and so why not benefit from that and why not prepare to keep on dominating defenses and being able to have something that other people have cause you know, it’s unique.”
The former Alabama field general went on to say that people vie for his capabilities and the duality that comes with him.
“Everybody wishes that had my superpower of having my legs and my arms,” Milroe said. “So why did I use that as a crutch against myself? Because someone doesn’t like it? If you don’t like it, stop it. I’m not phased by that. Why are you a runner? Things like that.”
The back-to-back 2,800-yard-passer concludes by saying his skillset makes it harder for the opposition to game plan against.
“At the end of the day, it’s hard for a defensive coordinator to stop it,” Milroe said. “One covered up doesn’t get out at all because it’s two-man; no one has me. It’s definitely a superpower of mine, and I use my strengths as a superpower. I’m excited cause I’m gonna keep on doing that. If you don’t like me being a running quarterback, don’t watch Jalen Milroe on Sundays.”
Where Does Milroe Land in PFSN’s Recent Mock?
Reese Decker of PFSN, in his latest seven-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, slotted Milroe as a second-round talent, going 40th overall. This lands the 6’2″ QB with the New Orleans Saints. As the Saints slowly transition out of the Derek Carr era, and with his health concerns reaching the forefront, snagging Milroe here could position him as the QB of the future in Louisiana.
Decker projects the Saints go edge with their first-round, ninth-overall pick. With this, Mykel Williams, the former Georgia Bulldog, becomes a member of Kellen Moore’s project.
As the Saints consider their options, keep an eye on Milroe going anywhere from the second to fourth round.
