The Jaguars managed to completely bamboozle the Buffalo Bills last week in springing a surprise 9-6 defeat on one of the favorites in the AFC. The Jaguars forced three turnovers as their defense made play after play against Josh Allen. Now they turn their attention back to the division and the potential to upset Carson Wentz and the Colts.

This will be just the second time this season the Jaguars will face a line that is double-digits. The first was last week, and we saw how that went. After starting 0-3 against the spread, the Jaguars have covered in three of the last five, making it hard to make a prediction for what we might see against the Colts.
In terms of the totals in their game, the Jaguars have seen the under hit on six occasions, compared to the over twice.
Colts continue solid run
The Colts produced a superb offensive performance to win their third game in four. Their last six games have actually seen them go 4-2, with both of the losses coming in overtime against two of the best the AFC has to offer. That run demonstrates how dangerous the Colts have the potential to be in 2021. However, they cannot afford to lose games like this one.
Indianapolis is 6-3 against the spread this season, including a 5-1 record in their last six. Additionally, the over has hit in five of their last six games, as their offense has stepped up while their defense has struggled somewhat. This will be the third time the Colts have been favored by double-digits this season. They are 2-0 so far with an average margin of victory of 21.5 points in those games.

The key to the outcome of this game will be the Colts’ running game. They were dominant last week and have looked better and better every week as their offensive line has gotten healthier. However, the Jaguars have been one of the best run defenses in the league in 2021. They allow a third-best number of 3.8 yards per rush attempt so far this season. If they can stifle the Colts’ run game, they can pile the pressure on Wentz.
The issue for the Jaguars is how many points they can score. For the first six games, they were fine, averaging 19.3 points per game. However, since the bye, they have scored just 16 points in total. That is the problem here. It is hard to see how the Jaguars can win unless they can hold the Colts to around 14 to 17 points. They have a chance to cover if they can restrict Indy’s run game, but with this offense seemingly stagnant, winning will be tough.
