New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson wanted to help his team get off to a fast start against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 60 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Sunday.
Henderson, though, hasn’t been too effective so far as the Seahawks were up 6-0 midway through the second quarter.
What’s Happening with Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson?
So far in Super Bowl 60, Henderson only has two carries and hasn’t recorded a yard rushing at all for the Patriots’ offense.
Henderson did have one carry for three yards, but that was wiped out on another carry that didn’t give him any positive yardage at all.
Henderson was a second-round draft pick (No. 38 overall) for the Patriots out of Ohio State in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Patriots’ offense has been held in check thanks to a stingy Seahawks’ defense that has caused Patriots quarterback Drake Maye some problems, too.
There’s no indication that Henderson is injured, either. So, the Patriots hope that Henderson can get going throughout the rest of Super Bowl 60.

In the regular season, when the Patriots went 14-3 overall, Henderson had 180 carries for 911 yards and scored nine touchdowns. He averaged 9.1 yards per carry in the regular season, too. According to the PFSN NFL RB Impact Metric, which is measured through the regular season, Henderson had an impact score of 66.9 and graded out to a D.
In comparison, teammate Rhamondre Stevenson, also in the PFSN NFL RB Impact metrics, had an impact score of 54.4 and graded out to an F.
As a team nearing halftime, the Patriots only have 34 yards rushing and 18 yards passing. The Patriots have been scoring throughout the NFL playoff run, where they defeated the Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans, and Denver Broncos in order to reach Super Bowl 60.
So far, though, Maye has not had too much time to connect with his receivers. Also, the Seattle defensive front is not allowing New England’s offensive line to make holes for their running backs to plow through at all.
All of this is adding up to a tough day for running backs like Henderson. Hopefully, the Patriots can figure something out during halftime and come out with a better offensive game plan for the second half. If they can’t do it, then it might be a long second half for Henderson, Stevenson, and the Patriots’ running game.
