Is Patriots Star WR Stefon Diggs Injured in the Super Bowl?

New England’s offense has had the ball a number of times, but so far it has struggled. One of the star players, Diggs, has yet to have a reception. This is very interesting because Diggs does not have an injury.

So far in these playoffs, Diggs has started slowly and hasn’t had one of his dominant games. This was understandable two weeks ago against the Denver Broncos when it was a blizzard out, but the other two games were also not good.

In the first matchup, against the Los Angeles Chargers, Diggs had only two receptions for 16 yards. The next week, against the Houston Texans, Diggs was a bit better with 4 receptions and 40 yards, but still not great. Then, as I mentioned before, the Broncos game was a struggle for all offensive players, and the star wideout had 5 receptions for 17 yards.

The playoffs have clearly been a struggle, but the regular season was different. Per PFSN’s WR Impact Metric, Diggs was the 4th-ranked WR this season. He was a difference-maker this season, but it just hasn’t happened in the playoffs. Still, when the lights are brightest, a massive performance from Diggs can happen at any time.

While playing for his three other teams (Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, and Houston Texans), Diggs has consistently fought to reach the Super Bowl, but it never happened. Today is the first time the star WR has finally gotten to the final game, and if there was ever a time for him to take over, it needs to be now.

For the Patriots’ offense, Diggs is a massive piece that must be unlocked for this offense to succeed in the Super Bowl. Currently, each team’s offense is not playing well. New England currently finds itself down to the Seahawks, and something must change. The ball must get to their best playmakers, and guess who one of them is.

Diggs needs to get more involved in the offense, and with Josh McDaniels just winning Assistant Coach of the Year, making that happen should be a likely outcome.
