Is Micah Parsons Playing in Week 4? Latest on Packers Star’s Status for Game vs. Cowboys

The Green Bay Packers face the Dallas Cowboys with defensive end Micah Parsons on their team. Will Parsons play on Sunday?

Ever since he was traded to the Green Bay Packers, defensive end Micah Parsons probably had Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys circled on his calendar. There’s nothing more that Parsons would love to do than have a big game and a few sacks against his former team.

Of course, Parsons has dealt with a nagging back injury that hampered him during his time with the Cowboys. He didn’t take part in any preseason games for the Cowboys and was shown on TV lying down on a table along the sidelines.

With his injury-prone background, it’s fair to ask if Parsons will play on Sunday.

Will Micah Parsons Play Against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday?

All signs point toward Parsons traveling with Green Bay to play at AT&T Stadium against the Cowboys on Sunday afternoon. Parsons chose to wear No. 1 on his uniform as a Packers defensive star, and he’s been showing that he’s worthy of that number.

While Packers fans and Cowboys fans will have their eyes on Parsons, the fact that Cowboys owner-general manager Jerry Jones is still talking about the trade is something. The 82-year-old has not missed an opportunity to take digs at Parsons, as he believed he had a deal on the table and a handshake agreement with Parsons on a new contract.

However, things fell apart and reached a point where Jones simply worked out a deal to ship Parsons to the Packers. Mind you, Green Bay is an NFC foe for Dallas. They are in the same conference, something that probably didn’t matter to Jones.

In his weekly phone interview with Dallas sports radio station 105.3 The Fan, Jones had a few barbs to throw Parsons’ way.

“While he does make great plays, there is also a way to approach playing against Micah – as we know, because we didn’t exactly win the Super Bowl during those years,” Jones said. “… Some plays it looks beautiful, but then other plays, especially running plays, you wish you had a different formation.”

Parsons, who played college ball at Penn State, was the 12th overall pick by the Cowboys in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. In 66 career games, Parsons has 54 sacks and 175 tackles. He’s also forced nine fumbles, too.

In three games this season for the 2-1 Packers, Parsons has three solo tackles, two assisted tackles, and one tackle for loss. He also has six quarterback hits to his credit.

It will be interesting to see how much pressure Parsons can put on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott in Sunday’s game. The Cowboys fan base will be watching closely and just might send some cheers and boos in Parsons’ direction.

Sunday’s clash between these two NFC rivals will definitely be must-see TV.
