Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts has been an integral part of the Falcons’ offense as quarterback Michael Penix Jr. has often looked to connect with him at key points in games.
On Monday night, Pitts was out on the field as the Falcons took on Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills on “Monday Night Football” at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
What’s Wrong With Falcons’ Kyle Pitts?
While there has been no word on any injury issues around Pitts, he’s had a pretty quiet first half against the Bills despite a 21-7 Falcons halftime lead.
At halftime, Pitts only had one catch for 10 yards and was targeted just twice. On the season, Pitts has 20 catches for 205 yards and one touchdown. He’s averaging 10.5 yards per catch, which matches his only reception against the Bills so far on Monday night.
I got to spend time with Kyle Pitts during his bye week — to say that he is happy in that Falcons offense is an understatement.
They are finally using him to fit his skill set — down the field, and on the move. A real Vertical Threat now. #RiseUp pic.twitter.com/dUhPdkPQmW

Pitts was a first-round draft choice out of Florida by the Falcons back in the 2021 NFL Draft. For his career, Pitts has 216 catches for 2,856 yards and 11 touchdowns. His career-longest reception is a 61-yarder, and has averaged 13.2 yards per catch in his career.
The Falcons have been dominant against the Bills so far on Monday night. Penix has had a great support cast around him from wide receiver Drake London and running back Bijan Robinson, who both have touchdowns in the game.
Falcons head coach Raheem Morris has got to be happy with what he’s seeing on the field to this point. Pitts obviously wants to be more active and could get some additional targets in the second half.
Heading into Week 6, the Falcons had the 17th-best offense in the league based on the PFSN NFL Offense Impact metrics. Atlanta has a 74.5 Offense Impact score and grades out at a C. These numbers might improve significantly if Atlanta keeps up the pressure against the Bills defense. Pitts has the experience to play a significant role if Penix can connect with him in the second half.
While London and Robinson are grabbing the headlines, Pitts wouldn’t mind putting his name among the team’s leaders on offense before the Monday night game ends.
