Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III was involved less on offense in the first half. Instead, it’s Zach Charbonnet, who scored the opening touchdown for Seattle.
Walker has been one of the best backs for the Seahawks this season and entered Thursday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams hoping to do more.
What’s Happening With Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III?
In the first quarter, Walker headed out of the Seattle backfield and got open for Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold.
Once he caught the ball, Walker motored his way downfield and got tackled after a 46-yard catch. Besides a second-quarter short catch, that’s been his only reception so far, which came on the only time he was targeted.

After those two plays, though, Walker has not been involved much. He had a pretty sharp carry late in the second quarter, too. There’s been no report about him being hurt, so he’s going to be hopefully getting more involved as the game rolls along.
According to the PFSN NFL RB Impact metrics, Walker has an impact score of 75.5 and grades out to a C. Entering Thursday night’s game, Walker has 179 carries for 779 yards and four rushing touchdowns. As a receiver, Walker has 22 catches for 176 yards and no touchdowns.
MORE: 3-Round 2026 NFL Mock Draft
Walker was a second-round draft pick by the Seahawks in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Michigan State. In three-plus seasons with Seattle, Walker has 779 carries for 3,307 yards and 28 rushing touchdowns. His longest run on the ground in his career was a 74-yarder back in his rookie season in 2022.
As a receiver, Walker has 124 catches for 889 receiving yards and two touchdown catches. With his first-quarter catch, Walker tied his personal mark for his longest catch at 64 yards. He also had a 64-yard reception back in the 2023 season.
Seattle is probably glad to have a player like Walker, whom they can count on in the same manner they do with Charbonnet. It will be interesting to see how much he plays as the game progresses into the second half. The Rams hold a 13-7 lead late in the second quarter, so the Seahawks and quarterback Sam Darnold have some work to do.
Thursday night’s game is a big one for both teams as the NFL playoff picture becomes clearer.
