The New York Jets made some big trades earlier in the week, but that hasn’t stopped them from putting up a fight against the Cleveland Browns. They may have 17 points, but their offense hasn’t been anything spectacular.
With a kick return touchdown and a punt return touchdown, the Jets offense isn’t responsible for much of the scoring, as many of their key weapons have been quiet.
Did Garrett Wilson Get Reinjured?
Garrett Wilson returned from injury in Week 10, but has been a non-factor in the first half. Wilson was finally back on the field for New York after sitting out a few weeks. He’s the main weapon on the New York offense, but the entire offense has been relatively quiet.
The Jets tried to get Wilson the ball in the third quarter and Wilson did suffer an injury. He went up for a jump ball and came up slowly.
Garrett Wilson just went into medical tent. #Jets

He went to the medical tent to get examined. He was rubbing his knee on the bench following the play. His return to the game is questionable.
Garrett Wilson (knee) is questionable to return, per #Jets

Wilson came out of the blue tent and headed to the exercise bike to work his knee.
Wilson had just returned after a two game absence. Although, fantasy managers probably wish he hadn’t. The anemic Jets offense couldn’t get him a single reception before he checked himself out with what looked like an aggravation of his knee injury.
This is already a lost season for the Jets. There doesn’t seem to be much incentive to force Wilson to play through injury. We could very well be looking at an extended, if not season ending absence for Wilson.
If the Jets WR1 cannot return, there is no beneficiary. There is no one to add. It just makes the offense that much worse.
The Jets already refuse to call pass plays. They will likely call even fewer if Wilson is out.
Justin Fields had only five passing yards on six pass attempts in the first half. He only completed three of those passes and has already been sacked twice. They have net negative passing yards, and that doesn’t go along well with Wilson’s performance.
The Jets have a chance to get their second-straight win. They are tied at the half with the Browns. The defense is playing well enough to win. The offense, not so much. Throwing the ball to Wilson is certainly one way to get the ball moving. Wilson is the 43rd-ranked wide receiver in PFSN’s WR Impact score with a grade of 75.5.
The Jets have a lot to figure out on the offensive side of the ball, especially at quarterback. They just added some new offensive weapons in John Metchie III and AD Mitchell, too. Mitchell is out today, and Metchie has been a non-factor as well. With Wilson entering the medical tent, Metchie is going to have to step up big time in his Jets debut to help this pass game get going.
Wilson is often the center of attention for opposing defenses. Outside of Breece Hall, the Ohio State product is pretty much the only dynamic threat for defenses to watch out for. Rookie TE Mason Taylor is slowly coming into his own, but he hasn’t proved to be a reliable piece yet.
Regardless, New York has a chance to get another win in Week 10 against the Browns. The Jets are staring at a high pick in the draft, and a win would hurt their chances at landing the top pick. But wins are hard to come by in the NFL, and the Jets will be doing their best to win games to build momentum moving into 2026.
