The New England Patriots jumped out to a big lead fast against the New York Giants on “Monday Night Football,” and Drake Maye found success in throwing the ball around to his wide receivers.
As Monday night’s game wore on, though, one Patriots wide receiver wasn’t too involved on the field.

Is Patriots’ WR DeMario Douglas Injured?
Patriots wide receiver DeMario Douglas, who is listed as a depth option behind Stefon Diggs, and Kayshone Boutte did not make a catch until late in the first half.
While Douglas didn’t make much of an impact for most of the first half, that hasn’t stopped Maye from being really accurate in the New England passing game.

As the Patriots held a 30-7 lead going into the third quarter, a bevy of Patriots receivers, including Diggs, Kyle Williams, and Boutte, were really involved in the passing game.
At this time, it does not appear that Douglas is injured. No news before the game came out regarding any injury issues for the wide receiver.
According to the PFSN NFL WR Impact metrics, Douglas has an impact score of 79.8 and grades out to a C+. So far this season, Douglas has 24 catches for 369 yards and three touchdowns. He’s averaging 15.4 yards per reception, so Douglas is making the most of his pass-catching duties this season.
Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has a way of getting players like Douglas involved in game plans. After having a very quiet first half, the wideout ended up catching two passes from Maye late in the second quarter. At halftime, Douglas has two catches for 24 yards, with his longest being a 15-yard catch.
Douglas has been targeted twice and came through both times as Maye connected with him. Douglas was a sixth-round draft pick (No. 210 overall) by New England in the 2023 NFL Draft.
As the second half begins, Maye might look to connect with Douglas more as the Patriots look to finish off a significant victory in front of the home crowd. The 24-year-old wideout probably hopes to have a chance to boost his statistics while, of course, helping the Patriots put away the 2-10 Giants.
Douglas can play a significant role in getting open downfield for Maye as Monday night’s game progresses.
