Is Broncos WR Courtland Sutton Injured?

Nix had two touchdown passes in the first half, including one to former University of Texas wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey.

As for Sutton, he’s been targeted three times by Nix, but has not been able to bring in a pass just yet. There’s no indication that Sutton is injured, either.

Look for the Broncos quarterback to seek out Sutton as their team tries to finish off the Bills and reach next Sunday’s AFC Championship Game.

According to the PFSN NFL WR Impact Metric, which is measured through the regular season, Sutton had an impact score of 76.6 and graded out to a C. In the regular season, Sutton had 74 catches for 1,017 yards and seven touchdown catches. Sutton averaged 13.7 yards per catch and was targeted 124 times.

Sutton was a second-round draft pick out of SMU by Denver in the 2018 NFL Draft. He’s played his entire eight-season career with the Broncos. In his career, Sutton has 453 receptions for 6,357 yards and 39 touchdown catches. His longest career reception is a 70-yarder from the 2019 season. He also has six career fumbles, and lost four of them.

As the Broncos roll along in Saturday’s NFL playoff game, they’re going to need Sutton to contribute. If Nix can find the veteran wide receiver open, then the Broncos’ offense will continue to hum along. Denver’s defense has forced three fumbles by the third quarter, and the offense needs to step up.

Denver is trying to get back to the AFC Championship Game after a long absence. However, wide receivers Pat Bryant and Troy Franklin have already been ruled out of the game as well.

With the Broncos’ defense showing its strength, and Nix driving downfield for scoring plays, Sutton probably would love to have a key catch to help out. Look for the 30-year-old wideout to potentially have a bigger role as the game goes on in Denver.
