Despite two recent wins, the New York Jets have had a tough start to the Aaron Glenn Era and the 2025 season. Glenn lost the first seven games of his head coaching debut, earning his first win with a 39-38 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8. The offense and defense have struggled mightily to maintain momentum.
After two nice outings from running back Breece Hall following an underwhelming start to the season, the fourth-year back has gotten off to a slow start against the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football in Week 11.

What Happened to New York Jets RB Breece Hall?
No, Hall is not injured; in fact, he has been a mainstay for the Jets’ offense all season, despite the unit’s struggles throughout the season. However, in the first half against the Patriots on Thursday Night Football in Week 11, Hall gained 31 yards on eight carries and was not targeted by quarterback Justin Fields.
When looking at his snap count compared to teammate Isaiah Davis, Hall has double the snaps and received the ball half the time he was on the field. Outside of the Jets’ first drive of the half, which ended in a touchdown, they’ve struggled to do much of anything.

Through nine games in 2025, Hall has rushed for 664 yards and two touchdowns on 138 carries. He’s also caught 22 of 31 targets for an additional 220 yards and a touchdown. He has lost a fumble this season, but that’s the only blemish on his resume. According to PFSN’s RB Impact metric, Hall is the sixth-ranked running back in the league this season.
While he struggled to get going early on in the season, he turned it up a notch during the Jets’ wins against the Bengals in Week 8 and the Browns in Week 10. Hall dropped jaws after a disappointing outing against the Carolina Panthers in Week 9, rushing for 133 yards and two touchdowns. He ran for 83 more yards against the Browns in Week 11 and took a pass 42 yards to the house for a touchdown.
New York is not out of the game by any means. Despite their offensive struggles after their opening drive, the Patriots only scored 14 points in the first half. If the offense can make some adjustments during halftime, the Jets can easily play themselves back into this Thursday Night Football contest. Getting Hall going on the ground will be big, but playing a clean game of football will be even more critical for the Jets.
