Is A.J. Brown Injured? A Look at the Eagles Star’s Status After Slow Start in Week 13 vs. Bears

A.J. Brown failed to make an impact in the first half against the Chicago Bears. Here is the latest update on the Philadelphia Eagles' star WR.

The Philadelphia Eagles were booed off the field at halftime against the Chicago Bears. The Eagles’ defense is struggling to deal with the Bears’ run game, and the offense has continued its season-long struggles.

Despite their record, fans have been frustrated with the offensive production. The same story is happening again as A.J. Brown is off to a slow start in Week 13.

A.J. Brown’s Quiet Start

The Eagles have scored three points in their last two halves. For a team that scored 40 points in the Super Bowl last season, the offense has looked like a shell of itself. Brown has expressed his frustrations with his own individual performance throughout the year, as well as the team’s overall struggles.

Brown had two catches for 11 yards in the first half. The Eagles have just 83 total yards. The weather is windy and cold, and is affecting the passing game. However, the entire operation has appeared disorganized and unprofessional.

According to PFSN’s WR Impact metric, Brown is the 25th-ranked receiver in the league this year. His impact score sits at 78.6, which is slightly lower than those of Justin Jefferson and CeeDee Lamb. Brown is having a down year, as he has had over 1,000 yards in each of his previous three seasons, which is all of his years with the Eagles. This year, it’s unlikely to happen if the Eagles offense can’t get Brown heavily involved.

Early in the third quarter, the Eagles went to Brown, and he rewarded them. The star wide receiver made a good catch over the middle, and after a penalty on the Bears, the Eagles found themselves in plus territory. They dialed up a deep ball to Brown for a touchdown to tie the game, but kicker Jake Elliott had other plans. Elliott missed the extra point, and the Bears kept a one-point lead. It was their first touchdown in over four quarters.

The entire offense hasn’t found a rhythm for the majority of the season. Saquon Barkley had one of the best running back seasons ever in 2024 and is averaging half of his production per game in 2025.

It’s hard to pinpoint a specific person when everyone is struggling, but time is running out for Philly to address the issues, or they could be facing an early playoff exit.

The Cowboys had a big win and could give the Eagles problems in the division if the Eagles continue to drop games. The Eagles need this game against the Bears as it would do wonders for their playoff hopes.
