‘I’ll Whoop You Real Quick’ – Olympic Champion Noah Lyles Sends Bold Warning to Tyreek Hill Amid Race Talk

Tyreek Hill is widely considered to be one of the fastest players in the NFL. The Miami Dolphins star has used his blazing speed to become one of the best players in the league. In nine seasons, he has been selected for the Pro Bowl eight times while earning All-Pro honors six times.

The one-time Super Bowl champion has recorded 11,098 yards and 82 touchdowns on 798 receptions, while adding 819 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 114 carries. Hill has also contributed on special teams, returning 91 punts for 1,036 yards and four touchdowns, adding 14 kickoff returns for 384 yards and one touchdown.

He has been involved in an online back-and-forth with Noah Lyles, claiming that he could beat the 2024 100-meter Olympic gold medalist in a race. The two have reportedly agreed to participate in a 60-meter dash sometime this summer. The track-and-field star recently sent a warning shot to Hill.

Noah Lyles Warns Tyreek Hill Amid Back-And-Forth Over Race

Lyles appeared on Cam Newton’s “Funky Friday” podcast, where he discussed the previously planned race. When asked if they raced, Lyles revealed that they haven’t. He claimed that Hill has frequently called out track stars and that he always told himself if an NFL star mentioned his name, he would be open to a race.

The Olympic gold medalist added that he would get a ticket for running full speed through a school zone before stating:

“If we go for the Olympics, it’s like, what’s next? Alright, give me your best guy. If Tyreek is your best guy, come on, I’ll whoop you up real quick. I’ll show you it’ll be over in the first five meters – probably first three steps. But everybody is like, ‘no, no, no, this is the guy’.

“Because you’ve had so long to prove what’s so fast in the 40. Alright, let me show you what the translation is and then they’re no longer thinking, ‘alright, track speed and football speed’. It’s just like, ‘oh, no, this guy’s just speed, period’. A whole shutdown.”

Lyles added that he has never run a 40-yard dash. He projected that he would be able to run the popular NFL combine drill in between 4.1 and 4.2 seconds. Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy set the NFL combine record with a 4.21 40-yard dash in 2024.

Track-and-field star Christian Coleman ran a 4.12 40-yard dash on turf in 2017 in response to claims that NFL players are faster than Usain Bolt, who is widely considered the greatest sprinter of all time.
