Where Are the Two Teams Standing Heading Into Week 6?

Since suffering a defeat in the season opener against the Green Bay Packers, the Lions haven’t looked back, notching up four straight wins. They dominated the Chicago Bears 52-21 in Week 2, edged out the Baltimore Ravens 38-30 in Week 3, and rolled past the Cleveland Browns 34-10 in Week 4.

The Lions picked up their fourth win in a row on Sunday, coming into Cincinnati and toppling the Bengals with a well-rounded performance on both sides of the ball. Their defense forced three interceptions and played well outside garbage time, while David Montgomery contributed with a passing and rushing touchdown.

With their high-powered offense and competitive defense, the Lions have bounced back incredibly well from their Week 1 loss to the Packers. They look like one of the best teams in the NFL right now, and the No. 1 spot in PFSN’s Power Rankings is well-deserved.

Meanwhile, for the first two and a half games, it seemed like the Chiefs’ dynasty may be over, as Patrick Mahomes and Co. didn’t look like themselves after the Super Bowl loss to the Eagles. However, starting in the second half against the Giants, the team began to regain its rhythm.

They showcased their dominance against a potential Super Bowl contender in the Baltimore Ravens, cruising to a 37-20 victory, with Mahomes delivering a vintage performance: 270 passing yards and four touchdowns. The Chiefs then kept things competitive against the Jaguars, but late-game heroics by Trevor Lawrence handed them a narrow 31-28 defeat.

In their defense, all three of Kansas City’s losses have come against strong opponents and by only one-possession margins. To get back on track for another Super Bowl run, the Chiefs will need to start converting these tight contests into wins, a challenge they’ll face head-on against the Lions this week.
