Where Are the Two Teams Standing Going Into Week 5?
Due to a strong running game and an effective defense, the Jaguars have a 3-1 record to start the 2025 NFL season. They’re very lucky they have those things to fall back on, because Lawrence has not been very good to start the year and is ranked 27th in PFSN’s QB Impact metric.
His 67.7% completion rate in their win over the 49ers in Week 4 was respectable, but he’s still at an abysmal 58.3% percentage this season. He was one of seven QBs to have started four games and still have a negative EPA per dropback average, highlighting his inefficiency in key situations.
The Jaguars’ defense once again carried the team in Week 4. Facing an injury-depleted 49ers roster, Jacksonville controlled the majority of the game. Even though the 49ers tried to make it a game late, critical defensive stops, along with four turnovers, proved to be decisive in securing the victory.
Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs have rebounded impressively after dropping their first two games of the season.
For much of those early contests, it seemed like the dynasty may be over, as Mahomes and Co. didn’t look like themselves after the Super Bowl loss to the Eagles. However, starting in the second half against the Giants, the team seems to have found new life.
Since then, the Chiefs have dominated on both sides of the ball, including a convincing 37-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens, a potential Super Bowl contender. Mahomes delivered a vintage performance, throwing for 270 yards and four touchdowns.
And with Xavier Worthy back and Rashee Rice’s return imminent, Kansas City is once again firmly in the Super Bowl conversation.
