Hassan Haskins’ Dynasty Outlook and Value

Fantasy managers are always interested in who a starting running back’s handcuff is. For Derrick Henry, we really weren’t quite sure. In 2021, it was a combination of D’Onta Foreman and Dontrell Hilliard, but the latter was more of a passing-down back.

So, when the Titans drafted Haskins in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, he looked like the favorite to handle the majority of carries if Henry were to go down.

For 16 weeks, we didn’t get an answer. Henry dominated carries. Outside of garbage time, Haskins literally carried the ball twice during that span, and Hilliard once again operated as the passing-down back.

Then, in Week 17, the Titans held Henry out, and we got our answer. Haskins was, in fact, the lead back, playing 63% of the snaps. It was his only meaningful action, and he carried the ball 12 times for 40 yards.

Unfortunately, with just 25 carries and 12 targets on the season, we don’t have nearly enough of a sample size to evaluate Haskins’ performance. Grading him on how well he did in a game the Titans treated as a glorified exhibition while starting Joshua Dobbs does no one any favors.

Hassan Haskins’ Fantasy Ranking

Haskins’ dynasty value is purely speculative. He probably doesn’t need to be on rosters, but in deeper leagues, I understand hanging onto him as a potential RB3/4 if Henry were to miss time.

With that said, when Henry inevitably falls off, someone will emerge in his place. But I don’t think that guy will be Haskins.

We currently have Haskins at RB72 (No. 218 overall) in our dynasty Superflex rankings. I don’t anticipate him ever being a relevant fantasy asset. Thus, I would not target him in dynasty startup drafts.
