The New York Giants came into their Week 5 game with loads of confidence. They had just upset the undefeated Los Angeles Chargers in Jaxson Dart’s NFL debut. Unfortunately, they lost their star WR Malik Nabers to a torn ACL, among other injuries. To make matters worse, they’re getting dominated by the 0-4 Saints, and they lost WR Darius Slayton to injury.
New York Giants Depth Chart
The Giants are now without Nabers and Slayton for the time being while they await the severity of Slayton’s injury. Slayton left the game with a hamstring injury.
Now, the Giants have Jalin Hyatt and Wan’Dale Robinson as their top two pass catchers. The team is missing Nabers badly.

The next two receivers on the depth chart are Beaux Collins and Gunner Olszewski. Olszewski is the punt returner and rarely ever gets reps as a receiver. The Giants are banged up and could look to add receivers in the coming days.
Robinson is not an ideal number one target, but has been more than serviceable for the Giants in 2025. Fans know the impact that Nabers has on the Giants, but Robinson had a similar impact based on PFSN’s Wide Receiver Impact score. Robinson is the 32nd-ranked wide receiver in this metric with a grade of 77.8, while Nabers was 31st at 78.1. Slayton was also close by in 34th with a 77.3 grade.
The reality is that the Giants are down both Nabers and Slayton. The Giants need to give Dart weapons to help him develop into the quarterback that they want to see him become. Right now, it’s going to be Robinson and Hyatt carrying the load for the New York offense. They’re going to need more help in the passing game.
The tight ends, Theo Johnson and Daniel Bellinger, have to play an important role in the pass-catching game, and Cam Skattebo can be another pivotal pass-catching option to ease the blows of losing both Slayton and Nabers.
The honeymoon period is over for the Giants after a great Week 4 win. They turned it over five times, two interceptions and three fumbles, against the winless Saints. They walked away with an even more depleted receiving core than before.
They have to go back to the drawing board and figure out what went wrong. It’s not getting any easier with a short week coming up against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football. The Eagles suffered a tough loss and will be out for blood as the Giants look to avoid falling to 1-5.
