Now that June has begun, we may start to see more movement in the NFL. We already saw two monumental moves with Myles Garrett being traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Los Angeles Rams, and the Philadelphia Eagles sending A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots. The New York Giants bolstered their receiving core on Monday by signing former Giant Odell Beckham Jr.
Beckham was drafted by the Giants in 2014, the same season he won Offensive Rookie of the Year. He went on to record 1,300+ yards in the first three seasons of his career, but injuries derailed his career, and he did not play in 2025. However, the NFC East franchise is taking a shot on Beckham, and former Giants quarterback Eli Manning seems happy about it.

Manning took to X to discuss the Giants’ signing of Beckham Jr., saying, “I like the look of this.” Manning knows what kind of talent the star wideout is, but what version will the Giants be getting? Beckham will be 34 in November, and we have not seen him as an effective NFL wide receiver since 2019.
The Giants have been loading up on wide receivers this offseason, likely due to the injury to Malik Nabers. He suffered a torn ACL last season, and the recovery is not going as smoothly as hoped. Nabers had to undergo a second surgery to remove scar tissue, though reports indicate the cleanup procedure is not expected to delay his return to the field.

Outside of Beckham, the Giants also added wide receiver Braxton Berrios and JuJu Smith-Schuster this offseason. While none of those players will be major difference-makers, adding so many receivers is a bad sign for Nabers’ recovery.
The Giants are looked at as one of the sleeper teams in the NFL this season. They added a new head coach in John Harbaugh, who is expected to change the culture in New York and bring back their winning ways.
They have invested heavily in quarterback Jaxson Dart. He was their first-round pick last season and showed flashes of very good play across his 12 starts. He had a QB Impact Score of 76.3 last season, which ranked 18th in the NFL.

The best way to continue developing Dart is by surrounding him with a solid supporting cast. Adding Isaiah Likely at tight end and Francis Mauigoa on the offensive line is a good start. Still, it will be interesting to see if they can get anything from Beckham and the rest of the wide receivers they added this offseason.
