Most NFL teams are now looking toward the offseason, with only the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots left in the Super Bowl, and Malik Nabers and the New York Giants are among the crowd. The Giants saw an early start to their offseason after posting a 4-13 campaign and would want to improve on that this year.

Giants Linked With Drafting WR Carnell Tate in 2026 NFL Draft

Ohio State Buckeyes wideout Carnell Tate drew a lot of attention with his outings this season. The junior established himself as a key cog in head coach Ryan Day’s offense next to fellow receiver Jeremiah Smith. Tate finished the 2025 campaign with 51 receptions for 875 yards and 9 touchdowns, which puts him at a career 14.

The Giants, meanwhile, had yet another poor year under Brian Daboll’s rule. Both the offense and defense ranked among the bottom half of the league, making the draft an important event for them. The offense ranked 17th in scoring this season, mustering no more than 22.4 points on average.

It was a transitional year for the franchise, with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart learning the ropes, and PFSN’s Jack Aaron believes giving the young quarterback another weapon to work with in Year 2 could solve a lot of the team’s offensive woes.

“The Giants’ offense is intriguing on paper, led by rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart,” Aaron wrote. “Even if Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo are healthy to start next season, the skill positions could use more juice. Tate — a polished route runner with strong hands and upper-tier ball skills — would complement Nabers well and give Dart the big vertical threat he needs to stress defenses.”

New York’s offense is largely built for the future. With Dart at quarterback, he had rookie running back Cam Skattebo with him in the backfield and youngsters Wan’Dale Robinson and Malik Nabers out wide. The corps’s lack of experience was reflected in its PFSN’s NFL Offense Impact rating of 70.7.

However, Daboll is gone now, and the renowned John Harbaugh is at the wheel of Big Blue next season. The coaching change marks the dawn of an exciting new era in Jersey, as Harbaugh brings a stellar coaching resume to the franchise.

Having coached Joe Flacco to the Super Bowl and built an exhilarating offense around superstar Lamar Jackson, people around the league are excited to see what he does with Dart and company. Whether he does opt to reinforce the offense with Tate’s serves remains to be seen.
