Days after the end of the NFL season, George Kittle reflected on the San Francisco 49ers’ elimination by the Seattle Seahawks, the team that beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60. However, the tight end did not analyze any aspects of the game and instead fueled a theory.
George Kittle Fuels Conspiracy Theory Involving San Francisco 49ers
Key players such as Nick Bosa, Fred Warner, Mykel Williams, and, in the NFC Wild Card round, George Kittle, suffered injuries that ended their seasons. Faced with so many physical problems over the years, the electrical substation near the training field became the focal point.
Kittle shared a previously untold story about the electrical substation during an appearance on ‘Complex News‘. This new perspective is unsettling and lends further credence to the conspiracy theory that the facility is harmful for the 49ers to train next to.
“The one thing that messes me up with it, this is tough, my rookie season there used to be trees in between the substation and our practice facility. There’s a fence there too and above the fence all the trees had no leafs on them, year round, all dead. Nobody notices it until you point it out. I didn’t point it out to Kyle Shanahan until 2021.”, said Kittle.
“A vet pointed it out to me my rookie season and I was like ‘That’s kind of weird’. But then this year the NFL came in and cut them all down. So they’re not there anymore so no one can see them. So it’s only us vets that know that was the truth. I don’t think anyone talked about that yet. That one messed me up.”

Although Kittle downplays the severity of the installation, his comments still raise concern because, regardless of whether the conspiracy theory is true, seeing dead leaves in a specific location while other parts of the tree are healthy is an undeniable warning sign.
Furthermore, the NFL cutting down all the trees this year only intensifies the conspiracy theory.
Therefore, the TE wants the league to at least investigate the substation and confirm whether or not it has any negative effect on the 49ers’ training. Until that happens, the conspiracy theory about the substation will persist.
Kittle, who ranks No. 5 in the PFSN TE Impact metric with a B grade, had a great season with 57 receptions, 628 yards, and seven touchdowns in 11 starts.
Despite injuries (missing five of the first six games due to a hamstring injury, plus an ankle injury in Week 17 and a torn Achilles tendon in the Wild Card game against the Philadelphia Eagles), the TE was named to his seventh Pro Bowl.
