An embarrassing 40-6 defeat at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts has led Las Vegas fans to slander quarterback Geno Smith just five games into his Raiders career.
Now sitting at 1-4, the Smith experiment seems to have reached its final straw, at least for Raiders faithful.

Las Vegas Fans Call for Benching of First-Year QB
It is no surprise that after four straight losses, the Raiders require a change. The fans believe that change should be at the quarterback position. More specifically, the first-year Raider Smith, should be benched.
One X user wrote, “Geno Smith gotta be benched at this point.”
With doubts arising regarding the 34-year-old QB, another fan writes about the West Virginia product’s poor decision-making.
“We seriously need to have a conversation about Geno Smith a league high 9 picks in only 5 weeks and just threw into double coverage,” said the aforementioned fan during the Week 5 tilt.
For many other fans, five weeks of the Smith trial is plenty enough for them.

With fans calling for Smith’s demise, how bad has the 12th year QB been?
Smith’s Statistics Continue To Plummet Amid Raiders’ Losing Streak
According to PFSN’s NFL QB Impact metric, the Raiders man at the helm is struggling mightily through five weeks.
Entering Sunday, Smith’s 74.1 QB Impact grade ranked 24th out of 37 qualifying quarterbacks, a rating that will likely worsen following Sunday’s loss.
Diving deeper into his statistical struggles, Smith ranks 30th overall in EPA/DB (-0.07). That’s on pace to be his second-worst in any season where he was the starter, ahead of only his rookie season in 2013 (-0.09).
While the quarterback has had several other seasons with worse grades, the only season Smith has ranked this low in QBi was 2014 (27th as a second-year QB with the Jets).
Going back to his turnover troubles, Smith had the second-worst interception rate entering this week (5.5%), a number that puts him on pace for the worst of his career.
Although age may play a part, the Raiders quarterback has been pitiful in escaping pressure, ranking 27th in sack rate (8.9%). That’s also on pace to be his highest sack rate in any season where he’s been the starter.
With the proof in the pudding, even more fans are calling for Smith to ride the pine.
“Geno Smith is not the answer, bench this guy,” an X user said.
Bench Geno @Raiders

“Bench Geno Smith,” a Raiders fan responded to Las Vegas’ final score post, including a “We deserve better” photo.
As the situation continues to get out of hand, another X user calls on head coach Pete Carroll to make an adequate decision.
“@Raiders Pete Carroll needs to swallow his pride and bench Geno Smith already,” a fan wrote. “I don’t care if Geno is ‘his guy,’ it’s clear he’s not the guy for this team. #Raider nation.”
The poor play of Smith comes at a hefty cost for Las Vegas, given the price they paid for the veteran gunslinger. Smith’s contract sits at two years with a value of $75 million and a cap hit this season of $40 million.
With minimal time to turn things around, will the Raiders’ coaches listen to the criticism and bench their newly acquired quarterback?
