Myles Garrett’s blockbuster trade to the Los Angeles Rams reverberated across the NFL landscape, sparking speculation about the legendary Aaron Donald’s return. LA’s Super Bowl odds are looking increasingly strong, and rumors about Donald’s return are taking the football world by storm.
Aaron Donald Joining Forces With Rams DE Myles Garrett Is Very Much Possible
Donald didn’t spend much time in the pros. After his 10th season in the NFL, he subsequently hung up his cleats as a multi-time All-Pro, retiring much earlier than legends like Peyton Manning, who played 18 seasons.
However, having retired at 32, Donald is currently only 35. While it’s certainly old for a defensive tackle, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility for him to return to the team he spent his entire career with.
Michael Brockers put his hand in the dirt next to Donald for seven years at the Rams. Together, they saw the dark years of 6-10 under Jeff Fisher in St. Louis, to a Super Bowl run under Sean McVay in LA.
Having established a close friendship, Brockers has a good idea of how Donald feels about returning to the field.
“I would say that I do have some information that might be considered as some knowledge that others might not have,” Brockers said. “But I’m not going to tell it all… but I will say this: My guy is staying ready so he doesn’t have to get ready. I’m going to leave the audience with that so we can get more viewers on the later show this week. I’ll be discussing if some of that is real.”
If Donald is staying in shape “so he doesn’t have to get ready,” it’s even less of a stretch to link him to a return to the Rams.
The legendary defensive tackle is one of the rare few players in NFL history to be selected to the Pro Bowl every single season of his career. He’s also an eight-time All-Pro, three-time Defensive Player of the Year, and a member of the Hall of Fame All-2010s Team.

At 35, unlocking anything close to what he has accomplished in his career would be a massive win for the Rams. With Donald and Kobie Turner anchoring the interior of the line, Garrett and Byron Young would be a terrifying duo coming off the edges.
The Rams defense posted an 85.5 PFSN Defense Impact score in 2025, and it’ll be fascinating to see what defensive coordinator Chris Shula, grandson of the great Don Shula, dishes up for next season.
