‘All Talk, No Action’ – Former NFL WR Calls Out Cowboys Ownership for Lack of Offseason Moves

The Dallas Cowboys have one of the most vocal owners in the NFL, Jerry Jones. He is more active in building his roster than most other owners. Sometimes, this can be helpful, but often, it has a negative impact on the team. As a result, despite being the richest team in the NFL, the Cowboys have not won a Super Bowl since the 1990s.

‘Nightcap’ Host Chad Johnson Calls Out Dallas Cowboys Ownership for Lack of Offseason Moves

Former NFL wide receiver Chad “Ocho” Johnson and former NFL tight end Shannon Sharpe released an episode of their podcast ‘Nightcap’ on Wednesday, Feb. 26. On the episode, Ocho called out Jerry Jones for not making offseason moves after watching their biggest rival, the Philadelphia Eagles, win the Super Bowl after being one of the most active teams last offseason.

“This has always been a copycat league. Offensive coordinators and defensive coordinators are doing things that they saw the previous week. But ownership, they should do the same thing as well. Look at the team in your division on how they operate. Offseason acquisitions, how they draft, understanding what they need, making all the right moves, showing you what being ‘all in’ really means. That’s what the Eagles organization does.”

Johnson continued, “Now all we hear from Dallas is talk, no action. Again, here we go again, talking about what they’re going to do, and what they’re saying makes absolutely no sense. You just paid your quarterback, and now you’re thinking of going and getting a new quarterback when you need help on defense.”

“Listen, I’m in no position because I don’t own a football team. I’ve never been in a position to own one, and I don’t know what it’s like to be in a position to own one, but I know when you’re making the wrong decisions, just by listening to what you’re talking about. I’ve watched the Cowboys for years. I watched them last year. I watched them the previous years. They’re good. I also know what they need to get over the hump.”

The Dallas Cowboys need to make adjustments after a disappointing 2024 season. They had 12 wins in each of the previous three seasons but failed to make the playoffs in 2024.
